WEEKEND RACE RESULTS FROM LEGIT SPEEDWAY PARK
15, 2017) It was a beautiful night Saturday
for race fans to enjoy some great dirt track action at Legit Speedway.
Mega Motor Sports was the main sponsor for the event which featured
all 6 classes plus Youth Go-Kart Races. It was A.J. Kinder winning
the Yard Kart competition with Kypton Horton finishing 2nd and Cole
Murphy finishing 3rd. Jaren Martin of Republic won the Race Kart
competition with Braxton Swearengin finished in 2nd and Eli Muilenburg
The Patriot Race Engines UMP Dirt Late Model race
it was all Kaleb Stolba as he led the short field of four from start
to finish. It was a great win for the 20-year-old from Willow Springs
who can use the $1000 paycheck for his honeymoon this weekend as
he and Laney Rabun will tie the knot this weekend at the speedway.
Congratulations to Kaleb and Laney. Finishing in 2nd place was Robby
Moore of Broseley, MO and with his first Late Model finish in the
money Ethan Rushin of Poplar Bluff, MO finished in 3rd after Blonde
Bomber Mithcell was disqualified in the tech barn.
The Hood's Performance IMCA Modified feature was another
exciting race as Brandon Walsh (#10) from Ash Flat AR took home
the winner's trophy and the check. Walsh got to move into Victory
Lane after Andrew Smith (#49) from Rogersville took the checkers
but was then disqualified for illegal equipment in the post-race
tech inspection. Walsh started in the back of the field in the heat
race and in the 4th row in the feature and put on a great show for
the fans, racing his way to the front of the field. With Smith DQ'd
everyone moved up giving Shane Kelley (2SLY) of Jonesboro the 2nd
place honors and Justin Rigel of Thayer (#21) taking 3rd.
The Mayfield Auto Repair Super Stocks put on another
great show Saturday night. After a photo finish race last week,
the Super Stock field proved to the fans that this class is going
to be fun to watch all season long. Bobby Ratterree (#20) of Mountain
Grove improved on his 3rd place finish last week by taking the checkers
in this week's race. Ratterree, who is driving a "Rippen Race
Car" built by Landon Clinton attributed his shock package to
his advantage in winning the race. Landon Clinton (#18) of Willow
Springs who won last weekend finished in 2nd place behind Ratterree.
It was #93 John Stiner of West Plains finishing in 3rd in another
exciting night of Super Stock action.
The Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Mod race was riddled
with spin-outs and collisions but saw Stephen Muilenburg of Sparta
MO come away with his 2nd win in as many weeks. The feature was
shortened to 16 laps because of time. Sawyer Crigler (#11) from
Alton, MO finished in 2nd place and Danny Martin (#33) from Republic,
MO finished in 3rd after starting in the fifth row. Michael Bowers
of Rogersville was DQ'd in the post-race tech inspection.
In the Global Steel Building Hobby Stock feature Carmon
Vincent (#9) of Moody, MO comes away with the win. The veteran driver
collected his second win of the season ahead of Chuck Russell (R9)
of West Plains who finished in 2nd. Russell and Darren Fox (#88)
of Mountain Grove battled it out all 20 laps, putting on a great
show for the fans. Fox ultimately finished in 3rd in a great Hobby
The final event of the evening was the Domino's Pizza
Bone Stock feature. This class is an entry level class and has grown
in popularity each year. Saturday night fans got to see 14-year-old
Hunter Gilmore of Neelyville, MO get his first official win. 2nd
place in the Bone Stock went to #22 Davey Chaney of Birch Tree and
